From Things
I'm putting my Thursday's post in early because I'll be attending a choral music symposium at Concordia U. of Ann Arbor. So here are a few links from Things Magazine.
"Miller drank that Kool-Aid." Philanthropist J. Irwin Miller thought modernist architecture would save us all, and made the town of Columbus, Indiana his proof-of-concept that proved nothing. Kinda admirable, kinda sad, kinda annoying -- like modernist architecture usually turns out to be. I'm sure it's a nice place to visit....
"This planet is not responding and will be terminated. Would you like to send this information to God?" It's the pointer kite.
"Click on the chart below to figure out who likes whom, who can't stand each other, and who's not sure." My high school sure could have used one of these, but instead, it's the Middle East that gets a Buddy List.
Umie the Umlaut says, "ask your doctor about the Fredösphere!"
